Bridesmaid for the Last Time

Let me tell you, being a bridesmaid is not for the faint of heart. I’ve had the honor of standing beside several close friends as they tied the knot, each with their own unique styles and very specific requests. And with every wedding, I reminded myself it wasn’t about how I felt but about how much I loved them and wanted to see their wedding dreams come true. Some dresses hugged my body like a dream, others… well, let’s just say I was grateful for my self-confidence. Yet, despite the fashion hits and (many) misses, they all wanted me to be a part of their special day, and that’s what really mattered. But after turns as a bridesmaid, I’ve made a vow of my own: no more weddings unless I’m sitting in the guest section with a plate of cake! Well, there’s one exception—if my sister Asialyn decides to walk down the aisle, you know I’ll be there in a heartbeat. And fine, maybe for my nephew, too. The music selection was on point, perfectly setting the tone for the evening. And the bar? Wow. Not only is it visually impressive, but their collection of bourbons is nothing short of delightful. If you’re a fan of sipping on something smooth, this is the place to be. We kicked things off with their happy hour wings, and let me tell you—these wings? Come on! Sweet with a subtle heat that sneaks up just enough to make you pay attention. They’re flash-fried and then flame-grilled, which gives them the perfect combination of crispy and smoky goodness. Keeping the Main Thing, the Main Thing

They say, “they wish more could be like me.” “Think like me,” because I keep the main thing, the main thing. Well, there are many more like me if you are looking for it. I come from a place of confidence, fulfillment, spiritually connected to my purpose. I appreciate the journey that I traveled to get here. I’ve been able to appreciate ALL of my blessings, big and small. As a young lady, living through a tough time, I’ve grown to value and appreciate the little things in life. The small gestures, energy transferred through a high-five, hug, or words exchanged of gratitude & appreciation. I’m able to pour that into the youth and always be intentional with their experience. Keeping the main thing, the main thing is simply knowing your purpose & main reason for doing what you do. To sit on the sideline and coach young teenagers who come from all different experiences of coaching & life, it takes an intentful focus and determination to teach the game I love the correct way.
